Dr. Godwin Daniel Athishtam comes from a family of illustrious teachers and educators who are leaders in the field. After completion of his schooling from Bishop Cotton's School Bangalore, and a Gold Medalist from St Joseph's Arts & Science College, Bangalore with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Political Science and Sociology. He completed his Bachelor's in Divinity from the United Theological College, majoring in child psychology and counseling. To this, he has added a Master's Degree in Sociology from Bangalore University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law & Administrative Law, and an M.Phil in Sociology. He has done a Master of Business Administration with specialization in Human Resources from Wigan & Leigh College, UK and a PhD in Sociology from Golden State University, California. He is currently pursuing his Post Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Prescott, UK.
After his stints with the corporate sector as Head HR and TQM Co-ordinator, he moved to follow his passion, teaching and working with autistic children. In addition to being a dedicated, committed and firm professional teacher taking pride in inculcating the fine nuances of the subjects he teaches, his previous work experience encompasses positions as Head of Department for Sociology and Psychology and as Academic and Administrative Head.
He shows keen interest in music, ornithology and wildlife photography with a huge collection of landscapes, birds, animals and people.
But more importantly, he believes that "What a teacher is, is more important than what he teaches".
